Hollywood Casino Columbus opened on October 8, 2012, on West Side land that held a Delphi auto parts plant until 2007. The Event Center is the casino's show room, a hall of about 20,000 square feet that is set up for concerts and comedy on show nights and rented out for private events in between.
What plays here
The calendar leans on 1980s rock and hard rock tours, tribute bands and touring comedians, the kind of shows that fit a night out at a casino. Our rock calendar and hard rock page pick up most of these dates.
Because the room is flexible, the setup changes from show to show. Check your ticket to see if you have a reserved seat or a spot in general admission.
Age and ID
The Event Center sits inside the casino, and shows here are 21 and over. Bring a valid ID, and leave the kids with a sitter for this one.
Driving out
The casino is at West Broad Street and Georgesville Road, right off I-270 at the Broad Street exit, so it is an easy drive from anywhere on the outerbelt. Parking is on site in surface lots and a garage, with valet available too. Big shows and busy weekend nights at the casino share the same lots, so give yourself a few extra minutes.
Dinner under one roof
The casino has its own restaurants and bars, which keeps dinner, the show and a nightcap under one roof. If you would rather catch a show downtown, the Palace Theatre is a straight shot east on Broad Street.
